About NYSRGGI

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is the first mandatory market-based regulatory program in the United States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Ten northeastern and mid-Atlantic states agreed to reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector 10 percent by 2018 by means of a cap and trade system. Power plants with a 25 MW or more generating capacity within the participating states are regulated by this program. The NYS RGGI e-mail list will provide stakeholders and interested members of the public information on upcoming meetings and other opportunities to participate in RGGI stakeholder processes.

You will only receive information from NYSDEC. Your email address will NOT be shared with anyone outside of NYSDEC because we respect your privacy and the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) provides an exception for protection of personal information.
