We will then take a walk outdoors to some of Five Rivers? ponds, which provide a home for several species of turtles. FAMILY CAMPOUT AT FIVE RIVERS CENTER A guided overnight campout will be held Friday, August 21, 6 PM, through Saturday, August 22, 10 AM, at Five Rivers Center, 56 Game Farm Road, Delmar. Our annual campout here at the Center is a gentle and safe way to introduce your family to tent camping. You provide Friday dinner; we provide Saturday breakfast and lots of experiences. Participants will gather on Friday evening to hike to the campsite where families will set up their tents. Center naturalists will lead the group on a night walk to look for bats, call owls and listen for coyotes. Snacks around a campfire will be available as we listen to campfire stories. The following morning we will rise early to take a dawn walk and have breakfast by the fire. Registration by Saturday, August 1, is necessary; space is limited. There is a $15.00 per family materials fee ($10.00 for Friends of Five Rivers members). In the event of inclement weather, this program may be canceled.
