CONNECTING TO NATURE RETREAT AT ROGERS CENTER

It is well documented that quiet time in nature is good for your
health. Join staff of Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne
to spend time connecting to nature on Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 AM to
noon. Henry David Thoreau said, *You learn that if you sit in the
woods and wait, something happens.* Rachel Carson said, *Those who
contemplate the beauty of the earth, find reserves of strength that will
endure as long as life lasts.* Anne Frank said, **nature brings
solace in all troubles.* If you are feeling rushed, harried, worried
or just want to spend a little time quietly enjoying the natural world,
join the staff for some activities that allow you to become aware of
your senses, observe nature, reflect and share with others. Bring a
folding chair, a snack and a blank notebook or small pad to use as a

FAMILY FISHING DAY AT ROGERS CENTER 

Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne invites you to a
family fishing day on Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 AM to noon. Bring a
child to learn the basics of fishing and fish identification. Kids will
get the chance to fish the pond with the help of members of the Chenango
Chapter of Trout Unlimited and view common freshwater fish with
fisheries biologists. Rogers Center staff will also have samples of the
aquatic insects found in the pond on display for visitors to take a look
at. It*s a great way to share nature with a child and help him or her
connect to the great outdoors. Use Rogers Center*s equipment or bring
your own. Catch and release only. All ages welcome. Free.
