Message-ID: <4C598793.26A6.0088.3@gw.dec.state.ny.us> Due to overwhelming interest in Rogers Center's summer children series, we are doubling some of our upcoming programs. There will be two sessions for Turtle Power on Friday, August 13 from either 10:30 AM to noon OR 1:30 to 3:00 PM. Turtles are among the oldest reptiles on Earth. In fact, some turtle species have been around for nearly 250 million years! Take a walk around Rogers to get a close up look at these familiar, yet mysterious, creatures. Construct paper-mache turtles to take home. Supplies limited; adult supervision and registration required. Please call Rogers Center at 607-674-4017 ext. 623, to register for this session by Monday, August 9. There will be two sessions for Fantastic Fish on Friday, August 20 from either 10:30 AM to noon OR 1:30 to 3:00 PM. Learn about some of New York*s native fish and the waters they live in through observation, playing games and making crafts. After observing real fish and pictures, kids will have the opportunity to draw a real fish, invent their own fish, or try out the Japanese art of fish printing. This year's annual meeting and ice cream social will feature a Birds of Prey Demonstration by Lorrie Schumacher, Master Class Falconer with Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience Meet at the Outdoor Classroom at Rogers where you can learn about birds of prey, see what goes on with Friends of Rogers, eat ice cream and meet other people involved at Rogers Center.
