Sunday, September 19 at 2:00 PM Everyone is invited to a birds of prey demonstration with Lorrie Schumacher, Master Class Falconer - Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience. Lorrie will bring several birds to show and some to demonstrate flying! Birds can be photographed and Lorrie will gladly answer questions. Following the birds of prey program, Friends of Rogers ( http://www.dec.ny.gov/education/59758.html ) (FOR-the advisory citizens' group) will conduct a short meeting, introduce the members and take nominations for next year's officers. Then it's time for ice cream! All are welcome to enjoy a custom made sundae and mingle with Lorrie, Rogers Center staff, and members of Friends of Rogers to ask questions. Valerie Freer will speak on saw-whet owls. Ray Briggs will discuss plantings for bluebirds. There will also be discussion about purple martins. Bring a dish to pass. A meat tray, rolls and drinks will be provided. There will be a silent auction; please bring an item to auction.
